CCBF’s First Annual Art Auction

The first Children’s Cancer & Blood Foundation art auction was a huge success.  Over 100 leading contemporary artists including Richard Serra, Ugo Rondinone, Dale Chihuly, Lino Tagliapietra, and Tom Otterness donated their artwork to support CCBF.  The event was held at Phillips de Pury & Company, and organized in conjunction with artnetĀ® Online Auctions (http://www.artnetonlineauctions.com).

Musician, producer and now fine artist Swizz Beatz sold his first piece of artwork, the Victory Suite, a large acrylic on canvas, as a donation to the Children’s Cancer & Blood Foundation.  He attended the event and was joined by fellow artists Karine Laval, Ron Burkhardt, Sarah Baily, Lee Lisovitz, Kathleen Kucka, Peter Fox, Coco Dolle, and many others.  We had a great audience of supporters and art lovers, many of who participated in the live auction and silent auction that raised in excess of $300,000.  CCBF chairperson Les Lieberman kicked off the live auction by thanking those attended as well as highlighting the generosity of the artists who contributed their work.  Mr. Lieberman also recognized the contribution of Tara Reddi, vice president of Marlborough Gallery, Brenda Taylor, of Brenda Taylor Gallery, Phillips de Pury & Company and Artnet Online Auctions, all of whom donated their efforts.
