2009 Breakthrough Ball

We are excited to announce that our 2009 Breakthrough Ball will be held on Tuesday, October 20th at the Plaza Hotel. Join us for this evening filled with inspiration and hope by buying your ticket now!

Proceeds from this benefit enable us to provide much needed medication, chemotherapy and other life-saving treatments to children treated at the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology of New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center. Last year more than 400 guests helped us raise over $1.5 million, and this year we hope to do even better.

This year, we will present the Breakthrough Spirit Award to Grammy Award-winning singer Toni Braxton, actor, writer and commentator Charles Grodin, and media entrepreneur and philanthropist Ted Turner. All of the honorees have dedicated their time, energy and resources to philanthropic endeavors on behalf of children in need. Charles Grodin, in addition to accepting his award, has graciously agreed to serve as Master of Ceremonies for his fourth year. The evening will feature a special performance by Toni Braxton and a live auction led by Jamie Niven, Vice Chairman of Sotheby’s.
